Aloha,
I’m sure you’ve noticed, I’ve changed the name of our weekly company newsletter to Voice Marks from “What’s new with Iwahai?” It just makes a lot more sense.
As you know, Iwahai is our corporate entity and VoiceMarkr is our primary focus - a platform for sharing of data and building relationships of all sorts. As a company, our main agenda is to build quality software around the concepts of place and audio.
It might surprise you to know that we intend to build a whole suite of apps and programs which will encompass these two areas. Everything from navigation to tourism to entertainment and reviews. How are we going to do it?
Like the lady said “The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step and then it’s just pick up one foot and put it in front of the other…”
That’s what we are doing. Sometimes, we wish we could move faster but the advantage we have is that we are lean and our financial needs at this point are minimal - a curse and a blessing because we could move a lot faster if we had big budgets - but of course, the problem with big budgets is you have to maintain them. There’s always a push and pull.
So, why the new name? A couple of reasons.
First of all - Voice Marks really fits with everything we are doing. Voice being the audio portion and marks being the spots on the map. It fits well with the name of our primary app VoiceMarkr.
Second - I’m new to doing a weekly newsletter and I’m learning as I go. The truth is, I just didn’t really like the way the newsletter name looked in the inbox. I think Voice Marks looks and sounds more compelling.
That’s about it. I don’t expect the content to change. We have slowed down considerably with the holidays so I don’t have any progress to report to you at the moment - but with the new year, things will definitely pick up some speed.
I hope your holidays are going smashingly.
